Before today, if you asked me what a baby rhino sounded like, I would have told you I don’t have a clue. Fortunately I have been educated on this topic thanks to a recent viral video, and now know exactly how damn cute these rhinos sound like when they are just babies.
The video was taken at the Wild Africa Rhino Sanctuary in South Africa, and instantly blew up after being posted to the /r/videos board on Reddit. As soon as the 3 baby rhinos are done feeding, they instantly begin to squeal, and it’s kind of uncanny how much they remind you of your pet dog the way they beg for more milk. Although it’s adorable, there is a sad twist to the whole thing, and that is that these baby rhinos are orphans. From the description on the YouTube video:
“These orphaned baby rhinos watched as their moms were killed by poachers in the South African bushveld. They, along with dozens of other orphaned rhinos, are currently being rehabilitated at the Care for Wild Africa Rhino Sanctuary in South Africa. Care for Wild Africa is the largest rhino orphanage in the world, and is committed to the successful rescue, care, and rehabilitation of Africa’s wildlife.”
Is this just a Disney movie asking to be made? 3 orphaned rhinos go out on an adventure to rescue their missing brother from poachers? I’ve got ideas Disney talk to me. Add in a few other talking jungle animals and we’ve got Madagascar meets The Incredibles, it’ll be great I swear.
